Spyke 1.4 KW starters offer 200% more torque; for 65-88 Big Twin models; than stock starters with a standard battery. This is due to the special gear reduction system that is used. High KW starters have the drawback that they will require special batteries to actually provide the power they are capable of. The short overall length; clean looks and the several finishes make this starter optical very attractive. Automotive industry internals are used; they are of tried; tested and proven quality. The special gear reduction design also allows this starter to turn over most Big-Inch high-compression engines without the need of a special (big) battery.
