This Spyke 1.4 KW starter offer 46% more torque than stock starters; with a standard battery; due to the special gear reduction system. High KW starters have the drawback that they will require special batteries to actually provide the power they are capable of. The short overall length; clean looks and the several finishes make this starter optical very attractive. Automotive industry internals are used; they are of tried; tested and proven quality. The Spyke Starter has a much better clutch gear than the OEM starters; which are sometimes seen as failure prone. The special gear reduction design allows this starter to turn over most Big-Inch high-compression engines without the need of a special (big) battery.
